I’m a coach, and an international speaker with Harvard education and a lifetime of experience to draw from, but certainly not because of how my birth family raised me. I’ve made my own path because of who I choose to be. I was raised in poverty in Chicago, and I was a victim of abuse. If my father would have had it his way, I would have been a professional criminal. I had trouble sleeping as a kid, and because of that people gave me all kinds of books to read through the night. Philosophy, religion, fiction, mythology, comic books, science fiction, you name it. It’s truly the one thing that messed up my fathers plan, and when I learned how to listen to my own voice.
